Why you need to pay attention to your landing page

Landing pages are your store front. It's a one-page presence that is a potential client, customer, or partner's, first introduction to your brand after clicking on a link. Unlike a traditional website where visitors are encouraged to browse through multiple pages and categories, a landing page is a one-page website that serves one purpose, and one purpose only, and that’s to get visitors to follow through on a single CTA, 'call to action.' Landing pages should have a clear message, guide the visitor through the page, and ultimately to the CTA.

Your landing page is a marketing asset. You may have multiple landing pages for different purposes or types of traffic. For example, you may guide someone who watches your Reels on Instagram to a landing page with a video (of you), while you might send someone who finds you on Google to a more descriptive page, since they likely are less familiar with you and what you do.

Here's a few pointers to get you started:

  • Keep it short, only about two to four words.

  • Use action-oriented verbs, like ‘Get’ and ‘Subscribe.’

  • Incorporate a subtle hint of persuasion and urgency.

  • Use language that matches your brand identity.

  • Be as direct as possible. Users should know exactly what to expect after they have clicked on your CTA.
